PENDING ADOPTION - Beaver is estimated to be about 9 and weighs 35 pounds. Beaver came to us through a rescue partner in South Korea where he was saved from the city shelter. Someone found him abandoned at a temple and took him to the shelter. He is learning English commands and is highly food motivated. He is mostly housetrained once he is familiarized with a schedule. He does bark when left alone, however he was debarked at some point in his past so, sadly, he no longer has that beagle bay. His barks are not loud enough to disturb neighbors. He will settle down after a bit and wait quietly until his foster family returns. Beaver loves leisurely walks almost as much as he loves naps on his bed or the couch. He does have some separation anxiety which he is working on with great progress in his foster home. This manifests through some initial barking and chewing on a blanket. Beaver does well with dogs and people he meets on walks. He did have heartworm in the past but that is all cleared up now. He had surgery for luxating patella. He will not be suited for long hikes or as a jogging partner. With his regular walks his stamina should improve over time but he likely won't be doing marathons. A home with fewer stairs would be ideal. He does not like cats, so no cats or other small critters.
Beaver is highly food motivated. His foster mom says Beaver is a pretty chill dude most of the time, but when it comes to food, he is brilliantly intelligent. He quickly figured out how to get food from his treat toy even when it is set to the most complex task.
