I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Millie

We're happy to tell you that Millie has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Sweet Millie will fit into many families. She is one of the friendliest pups ever and is so excited to see anyone and everyone. Dog friendly. Cat friendly once she gets used to them - she does have some prey drive so she will want to chase them at first. She whined, bayed, and chased the foster's cats for a bit before getting used to them and now she basically ignores them other than the occasional sniff. She still gets excited sometimes if she sees the lizard move in his tank. She’s potty trained and will scratch at the door when it is time to  go out.

She walks really well on her leash, but take care as she may slip out of her harness. She sniffs and will want to chase rabbits and squirrels, but she gets over it pretty quickly. She has an old injury to one of her front legs that the vet said weight loss would be the biggest help. She will hold her left front leg up on occasion but not overtly limping at all.

She is almost 7 years old and has plenty of years left as most beagles see 16 years. She was adopted from SBR a couple of years ago, but sadly her owner needs to move to long-term care and is not able to take Miss Millie. She loves toys, especially squeakers. She will rip the squeakers out given the chance. She knows how to sit! She will bay/bark at the door and passersby if she’s in the backyard. She will also bay/bark if a dog tries to sniff a snack she has. No obvious resource guarding, just telling them to back up cause that’s hers! She loves attention, belly rubs, neck scratches, etc. She’s just the funniest and cutest little companion. She loves sticking her head out the window to get some air. Millie does need to take a medicine for her thyroid and get to a healthy weight. She is spayed and up to date on all her vaccines.
