Star is an approximately 1 year old male beagle recently released from a medical laboratory in South Korea. He was used in the testing of herbal medication. Star is currently in a foster home in Korea. We have been told he is really kind, super friendly and cuddly around people but cautious as laboratory released beagles can be when introduced to new homes. Star gets along well with other beagles as well. He has even shown that he is very friendly with dog-savvy cats! Star walks well on a leash but hasn't had much chance to live in the city so loud noises and busy streets may startle him at first. As with many laboratory release beagles it is taking longer than normal to housetrain. He was living in a metal cage for the past year and therefore has no idea where to pee and poo, or where not to do that. He will learn and get there with patience and another confident resident dog to show him the way. From our past experience, laboratory beagles learn from other dogs so Star MUST have another confidant resident dog in the home. We have no information on his interaction with kids at this point. He may startle easily with younger kids how like to run around, move quickly and sometimes loudly. Older kids would be preferable for Star. He would love to join your family so fill out an application to learn more!
