Meet Mia, a gentle soul with a heart full of love who’s ready for a second chance. Found by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, it’s unclear whether Mia was abandoned or simply lost, but what’s certain is that she’s now safe and surrounded by people who care. Mia is about 9 years old and weighs around 25 pounds. She appears to have recently had puppies, though heartbreakingly, they were not found with her. Despite her rough past—likely bred for field trial hunting—Mia remains incredibly sweet, though understandably timid.
When she was rescued, Mia had a sore muzzle, possibly from trying to chew her way out of confinement, but she’s now settling into a safe and loving foster home in St. Louis, Missouri. Her new beginning has already started with a trip to the vet for her initial vaccines, and she’s scheduled for a spay and a much-needed dental on April 30th, 2025. Once she has healed, she’ll be ready to make the journey to Seattle in search of her forever family.
Mia is currently thriving in her foster home, which includes dogs of all sizes, and she even did wonderfully with a very playful cat at the vet’s office. We don’t yet know how she does with children, but as we get to know her better, we’ll continue to update her profile. Mia is a special girl with a gentle heart who just needs a little patience and a lot of love. If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal companion to share your life with, Mia just might be the perfect match.
