I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Felicia

I'm Available

Meet Felicia – Your Little Shadow with a Big Heart 🐾

Felicia’s story started on the streets of Ferguson, where she was found as a stray and sadly never claimed. But this 26.2-pound sweetheart hasn’t let that dim her loving spirit. At approximately 5 years old (per her vet), Felicia is the perfect blend of maturity and playfulness — past the puppy chaos, but still full of life and love to give.

💕 Personality

Felicia is incredibly sweet and people-focused. Her favorite place? Right by your side. She’s the kind of dog who will happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company. Whether you're working from home, watching TV, or doing chores, Felicia is content simply being near her humans.

She seems to get along well with most dogs. She’ll engage if the vibe is right, but she’s also confident enough to let other dogs know (politely!) when she’s not in the mood to play. At her first vet visit, she showed no interest in the clinic cat — which gives us hope she may do well in a home with feline friends.

🩺 Health & Care

Felicia has tested positive for heartworm and Ehrlichia (a tick-borne illness). The good news? She has already started treatment for Ehrlichia and will be undergoing heartworm treatment while staying with a loving foster family in the Midwest.

She has received:

  • Her first round of vaccinations

  • Deworming medication

  • A full veterinary evaluation

Felicia will need to be spayed, but the timing will depend on what’s safest in coordination with her heartworm treatment. Her rescue team is committed to making sure she receives the best care possible every step of the way.

Heartworm treatment requires a period of rest and limited activity — which suits Felicia just fine. She’s much more interested in cuddles than marathons anyway!

🏡 Ideal Home

Felicia would thrive in a home where:

  • She can be close to her people

  • Moderate activity is balanced with lots of companionship

  • Any resident dogs are respectful of her cues

  • Slow, thoughtful introductions are given to other pets

She doesn’t ask for much — just love, safety, and someone who won’t give up on her.

Felicia has already overcome being lost and unclaimed. Now she’s ready for her real forever story — one filled with cozy beds, gentle hands, and a family who sees just how special she is.

Could that be you? 💛

Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.

We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
