Meet Lucy 🐶

Lucy has her bag packed and is ready to find her next loving home! This sweet 7-year-old beagle (soon to be 8) weighs about 30 pounds and has been a wonderful, loyal companion. With her family preparing for a move in July, Lucy is hoping to make a smooth transition into a new home sooner rather than later.

Lucy is a calm, easygoing girl who enjoys the simple things in life—especially lounging around and relaxing near her people. She has a gentle presence in the home and would be a great match for someone looking for a laid-back companion.

She does well on walks and gets very excited at first—so you can expect a bit of pulling for the first few minutes—but she settles into a nice rhythm once she’s gotten that initial burst of happiness out. Lucy hasn’t had formal training classes, but she does know common commands and has great manners from years of being a beloved pet.

Lucy would do best in a home with children over 10 years old who can respect her space and calm nature. She may also enjoy having a friendly dog companion around, though she’s perfectly content being a relaxed housemate.

A few years ago, Lucy experienced a couple of seizures, but she has not had any since, and her veterinarian is not currently concerned about any ongoing health issues. Overall, she’s been a healthy and steady companion.

As a beagle, Lucy could have many happy years ahead—these wonderful dogs often live into their mid-teens, and she still has lots of love to give.
