Meet Betsy! 🐾

Betsy is a 5.5-month-old puppy weighing about 17 pounds, and this sweet girl is looking for a patient, loving family to help her blossom. She came into rescue alongside her sister, Bridget, and brother, Brooks, after their original owner was giving away a total of five puppies at random. Thankfully, Seattle Beagle Rescue was able to step in and help three of them, including Betsy, giving them the opportunity to find the safe, secure futures they deserve.

Of the three siblings, Betsy is the shyest. As the larger of the two girls, she may look confident, but new situations can feel overwhelming for her. Her first instinct is often to retreat, hide, or avoid being picked up when she's feeling unsure. However, once she's safely in your arms, she relaxes and enjoys the comfort and reassurance. With a little patience and understanding, Betsy's sweet personality begins to shine through.

While she can be timid with people and unfamiliar experiences, Betsy still likes to remind her little sister who's in charge! She has a quiet confidence that emerges when she's feeling comfortable, and it's clear there's a loving, loyal companion waiting to emerge as she gains confidence.

Betsy is scheduled to be spayed on June 3 and will be ready to travel to Seattle on June 12.

As a young puppy, Betsy is still learning about the world and will thrive in a home that can help her build confidence while continuing her puppy education. She is looking for a family with:

• A securely fenced yard for safe play and exploration
• Another friendly, confident dog to serve as her canine role model
• People who are home much of the time and committed to helping her grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be
• Patience and understanding to allow her to adjust at her own pace

Betsy may not be the puppy who rushes up to greet everyone she meets, but for the family willing to earn her trust, the reward will be a deeply devoted companion who learns that the world isn't such a scary place after all.
