I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Babe

Meet Babe đź’•

Babe is a 24.6-pound sweetheart who is just beginning her journey toward trusting people. After having puppies in May, she found herself being given away for free to anyone on Facebook. Thankfully, one of our St. Louis fosters saw the post and reached out, ensuring Babe would have the chance she truly deserves—a safe, loving future.

Right now, Babe is incredibly timid. When she's unsure, her first instinct is to freeze. She isn't ready for leash walks yet and won't venture outside on her own for potty breaks. Instead, she needs to be carried onto the deck, where she'll usually go potty before hurrying back inside to the place she feels safest.

Babe has quietly claimed one corner of the couch as her safe space. If another dog happens to be there, she'll calmly climb into her spot as if she doesn't even notice them. While she's not ready to play, she truly enjoys the company of other dogs and seems comforted simply by their presence. We think a calm, confident canine companion could help her continue building confidence. Kids and cats are an unknown at this time.

Treats don't interest Babe yet, and she prefers to eat only when no one is watching. If you place a bowl of food in front of her while you're nearby, she'll wait until you've left before she feels comfortable enough to eat. Being crated is also very frightening for her, causing her to completely shut down.

Babe isn't looking for someone who expects an outgoing dog from day one. She's looking for someone who understands that healing takes time and who will celebrate the smallest milestones. The first tail wag, the first treat she accepts, the first time she chooses to approach you instead of freezing—those moments will be priceless.

Babe weighs 24.6 pounds and had puppies in May. She is heartworm negative and is currently being treated for Ehrlichia. She received her initial vaccines on June 25 and is scheduled to be spayed on July 1. Before flying to Seattle, she will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, and have a fecal test completed.

Babe's past has taught her to be afraid, but every day offers the chance for a new beginning. With patience, kindness, and a quiet home where she can move at her own pace, we believe this gentle little girl will discover what it means to feel safe, loved, and finally home.

Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.

We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
