Meet Cora 💕
Cora joined Seattle Beagle Rescue unexpectedly, arriving with the beagles on Operation Frodo 2025 transport from the Omaha area. When her initial rescue placement didn’t work out, we were asked if we could help—and of course we said yes! While Cora may not be a beagle, she absolutely deserves an amazing forever home, and we know our wonderful community will help her find it. Could that be you?
Cora is a tiny, adorable girl at just 16.5 pounds, and she’s full of personality and love. We believe she’s a terrier mix—possibly Jack Russell, Jack-Chi, or something similar—and she definitely shows some classic terrier traits! Our current age estimate is about 2.
She is very active and will need a good daily walk (or two!) to keep her happy and out of trouble. Cora walks beautifully on leash and is a fast little walker. She enjoys being outdoors, doesn’t mind the snow, and would love a fenced yard, though it may not be required if she gets plenty of outdoor time. She is not suited for apartment living.
Cora would truly thrive with a young, playful dog companion—having a buddy to run and wrestle with is a must for her. She greets people and dogs of all sizes very nicely on walks, but busy downtown environments make her nervous right now. With time, patience, and a loving family, her confidence may continue to grow. She seems to prefer rural or suburban settings where things are a bit calmer.
At home, Cora is:
Crate trained and does well in her crate
House trained (so far!)
Very loving, snuggly, and affectionate
A big fan of toys, bones, and playtime
Happy to cuddle and give lots of kisses
She can get a bit overstimulated during play and tends to use her teeth when playing or grabbing hands (or faces), so no small children please. She also cannot live with cats.
Cora barks when someone comes to the door or when she hears unfamiliar noises—another very terrier-like trait. She has shown no resource guarding of food, toys, or people, which is wonderful to see.
Cora would be a great match for an active person or family, especially someone who is retired or works from home and can give her the exercise, structure, and affection she craves. She is incredibly trusting and bonds quickly with kind souls.
If you’re looking for a small, energetic, playful, and incredibly loving companion—and you have a playful dog who needs a best friend—Cora may be your perfect match 🐾💖
Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
