Meet Eevee: A Sweet, Energetic, and Loving Companion 🐾

Eevee is a brindle-colored beagle/boxer mix who is 2 years old and weighs about 30 lbs—roughly the size of a corgi, but taller. She was adopted from the Tacoma Humane Society in April 2024. She’s a playful, affectionate dog who absolutely adores people and is especially great with kids. Eevee thrives in environments where someone is home most of the day and would do best in a house with a doggie door. She loves to spend her time at the dog park running and chasing, although she’s not fond of playing with larger dogs. Given her love for chasing small animals, she would likely do best in a cat-free home.

Eevee has some separation anxiety and does not feel comfortable in a crate, so a crate-free environment is a must for her. She’s incredibly sweet, intelligent, and full of energy, but she can also be a lap dog when she’s ready to wind down. Eevee is extremely food motivated, making her easy to train, and she responds quickly to commands. She enjoys playing fetch, is obsessed with tennis balls, and loves sniffing and searching for things she’s curious about. Eevee has also been known to try to bury bones in the couch cushions, adding to her playful and quirky nature.

She is house-trained and not leash-reactive, making her a great companion for walks and outdoor activities. Eevee has previously lived with a 2-year-old and 6-year-old, and she did wonderfully with them. She is always eager for playtime or a fun training session. Eevee did extremely well in a home with a fenced yard and dog door, where she had plenty of space to run and play.

She would be perfect for a family, particularly one with a stay-at-home spouse who can give her the attention and interaction she needs. While she has a ton of energy, she’s also incredibly loving and enjoys snuggling with her humans when it’s time to relax.
