Eve is a sweet, sensitive girl with a gentle spirit. She is looking for a forever family that will offer her patience, understanding, and lots of love and affection. She was a stray that found her way to a home that was not ideal (to say the least). Eve was abandoned, along with several other Beagles and left behind in extreme conditions. Prior to being rescued, Eve did not have the opportunity to experience humans that could be trusted to care for her and keep her safe.
This situation has contributed to Eve being very timid and skittish. It takes her a little time to warm up to new people and situations. While still being incredibly sweet and adorable, she will be a little withdrawn at first. Each day of a consistent routine, patience and love… offers her the opportunity to feel safe and secure. Eve will do best in a calm, reassuring environment where she can blossom at her own pace. She adores being showered with love and a nice massage and belly rub are always welcomed. She enjoys having some non-squeaky toys and bones around… keeping them all in her bed, close to her.
Eve is currently in foster care as an only dog; however, we believe that the transition to her forever family will be supported by a confident, friendly dog companion who can show her the ropes and help her adjust more quickly to her new surroundings. While she has been very gentle with children, we feel that Eve would do best in a home where the children are older… as she is sensitive to noises and sudden movements.
Eve is house trained, and establishing a routine with her is a breeze. She is content to be in a crate; however, she has done great being left alone and not in a crate. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She had double bilateral cherry eye that was surgically corrected.
Eve is approximately 2 years old. She enjoys both playtime and lounge time. While she is close to 27 pounds, she is long and lanky…. so looks a bit on the thin side. She has been with her new foster family in Oregon for only a short time, and she is learning how to take walks on leash and respond to basic commands. New adventures can be a bit scary for Eve, so patience is required. She will need a secure, fenced yard to do her business since leash walking is a work in progress.
Eve is truly a special girl that wins over everyone’s heart as soon as they meet her. Her sweet nature and calm demeanor make her simply irresistible. Are you ready to welcome her into your heart and home?
Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
