💙 Meet Jax — A Good Boy Looking for the Right Fit 💙
Sometimes, loving a dog means recognizing that he may thrive in a different home. Jax’s family loves him deeply, and this is not a decision they are making lightly. With a new baby who has special medical needs, they’ve come to realize that Jax would be happier and more successful in an adult-only home where he can get the time, attention, and support he deserves.
Jax was adopted from a shelter about two years ago, and his family has worked hard to give him a safe, loving life. After discovering that he has a history of seizures, they connected with a veterinary neurologist and got him established on medication to help manage his condition.
Jax also takes a daily medication to support his behavior. His family has invested in his care and wants to be completely transparent about his needs so they can find the best possible match.
With a new baby in the home, Jax has been struggling with the changes. When the baby is being held, he has sometimes put his teeth on the arm holding the baby, leaving marks without breaking the skin. His family takes this seriously and believes an adult-only home would be a better environment for everyone, including Jax.
✨ What Jax needs is a fresh start with the right person.
An ideal home would be an adult-only household with someone who understands that dogs have different needs and is willing to give Jax time to settle in. As a Heeler mix, Jax may also benefit from regular exercise, mental enrichment, and activities that keep his clever mind busy.
His care does come with some ongoing expenses: 🐾 Seizure medication: His family works with a veterinary neurologist, and medication may cost around $180 when purchased online. The exact cost will depend on the prescription and pharmacy. 🐾 Daily behavior medication: Currently around $30 per month. With a change in environment, his future needs may be different, but any medication changes should be made with guidance from his veterinarian.
Jax’s family understands that finding the right home may take time, especially with his medical and behavioral needs. They are willing to be honest, answer questions, and do their best to help make a transition successful.
They are located in Eastern Washington and are hoping to connect with someone who sees Jax as more than his challenges and is willing to learn about the wonderful dog he can be in the right environment.
❤️ Jax is deeply loved. His family isn't giving up on him; they're trying to find a home where his needs can be met while keeping their growing family safe. They hope someone out there may be the right person to give Jax his next chapter.
Please share to help Jax find his person. The right connection could make all the difference for him. 🐾
