Meet Josie: A Sweet, Independent Senior Looking for a Loving Home 🐾
Josie’s previous owner has Alzheimer’s and could no longer care for her, so Josie is now living with her owner’s daughter. She’s adjusting well and doing better. While Josie is independent and curious, she is slowing down a bit with age. Despite being older, she still enjoys playful moments and exploring her environment. She is mostly friendly but can take some time to warm up to strangers.
Josie is an 11-year-old beagle with a delightful personality who enjoys daily walks and snoring on the couch. While she loves attention, she’s not a fan of hugs or constant snuggling, so Josie would thrive in a home without young children, as she tends to be unhappy when they try to grab her for a hug. She enjoys chasing a child around the yard with her tail wagging, she will tell them no if they try to hold or hug her. Josie gets along well with a female Rottweiler in her current home, but she’s not particularly fond of other female dogs and harasses the cat.
A small yard would be perfect for Josie, as she doesn’t need a lot of space to be happy. She is a bit loud, so a home with understanding neighbors would be ideal. Josie would love to find a family or individual who can provide the love and care she deserves in her golden years, and ideally, someone who is home more often to keep her company.
