Lilly's owner in St Louis passed away and she is now with a foster in the Seattle area. Lilly is about 7 years old and a bit overweight, so she needs someone to help her get slim and trim. Her foster says she gets along with all the other dogs in the home and previously lived with other dogs. She has started opening up and playing with toys as well as playing with the other beagles in the home. Lilly seems to be pretty well housetrained with just one known accident since arriving in Seattle. She will sit and bark at you when she needs (or just wants) to go outside. She takes treats gently and does not scarf down her food, as many beagles do and sometimes will not want to eat unless a bit of yummy wet food is mixed in. She probably had a bit more human food than she should have had to get to her current chubby state. She loves to sleep on the bed at night (cuddles up next to you but also a bed hog) and does well with no middle of the night potty breaks. Lilly loves napping on the couch or dog bed, but her favorite time is spent on walks or long sniffs in the yard following every mouse, rabbit or squirrel trail, sometimes with some whining to show her excitement. She can be very obsessive about those sniffing trails. She is a very sweet girl that likes to hang out with her people and being in the yard, so hopefully a home with someone around more often. Lilly would love to have a home with another dog to play with, walks to smell everything and a yard to thoroughly explore. She has an incredible beagle bay so no apartments/townhouses for her! She has not been tested with cats but barks at them through the fence, so best no cats or small critters in the home. She has also not been tested with kids of any age but would likely do well with kids if kids are dog savvy and respectful.
