Meet Lily Rose, a 6-year-old, 25.8-lb Beagle with a gentle heart and so much love to give. ❤️
Sadly, Lily Rose’s owner passed away, and she is currently in a trial home in the Seattle area. While her trial home has been wonderful in wanting to give her a forever home, it is not the right long-term fit because the resident dog wants to play with Lily, and Lily isn’t interested in playing. She can be a little cranky with the resident pup when he tries to engage her, mainly when she is sleeping, so Lily would be much better suited as the only dog in her forever home.
Lily Rose is a total sweetheart who loves cuddles and being close to her people. She especially enjoys being with the 7-year-old boy in her trial home and would happily soak up all the affection you are willing to give. She greets adults and children appropriately and happily and does not exhibit the cranky behavior with humans that she sometimes shows toward the resident dog. She also does well with the kitty in the home.
What initially appeared to be resource guarding on the sofa seems to actually happen when Lily Rose is startled awake by the resident dog walking by. When startled from sleep, she may growl at him. She has not exhibited this behavior with the adults, children, or kitty in the home, but it is a good idea to give her some warning conversation to bring her out of a good nap. The resident pup has tried to entice her to play, but Lily Rose has no interest and would much rather be curled up with her humans.
Lily Rose walks well and is very interested in rabbits, so a home with rabbits or other small animals may not be the best fit. She is otherwise not particularly interested in other dogs or cats and would thrive as the only dog in a home with adults, children, and potentially a cat.
Because she is a Beagle, Lily Rose comes with that famous Beagle nose! She has been known to scale a fence and go exploring when her nose leads the way. For her safety, a super-secure fence is an absolute must. No chain-link or horizontal-slat fencing will work for this determined little explorer. Her forever family will need to be committed to keeping her safely contained.
If she lives with a family that has children, she would prefer kids over 10 as she is not fond of being woken suddenly from a lovely nap. Toddlers may not understand this situation when looking at a beautiful dog soundly sleeping. Lily Rose is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. She is ready to once again look for the happy ever after home.
Lily Rose has already been through a lot. She is now looking for someone who will give her the security, patience, affection, and forever home she deserves. She is sweet, loving, cuddly, people-oriented, and happiest when she can be close to her humans. Lily Rose is ready to be someone's beloved companion and would love a forever home where she can be the one and only pup. ❤️
Could Lily Rose be the sweet Beagle you've been waiting for? 🐾💕
Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
