Meet Mabel – A Sweet, Loving Girl Looking for Her Forever Home!

Mabel is a gentle, affectionate dog with a heart full of love, and she's in need of a special home to call her own. She was found by some very nice people in the St Louis area, as a stray, emaciated and weak, with two pups by her side. Since then, Mabel has filled out and shown her nurturing, caring personality. She’s about 7 years old (guesstimate), vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Though she’s not yet spayed, she is scheduled for spay, boosters, microchip, and a fecal test on February 19th.

Mabel is a calm, laid-back dog who gets along wonderfully with other dogs (both male and female) and even cats. From her pictures, we believe Mabel would prefer to have another dog in the home to cuddle with.  She loves running around the yard and has an adorable zoomie technique, spinning in circles with excitement. She’s not destructive, though she has a little digging habit as she tries to catch that elusive mole in the yard! Mabel is a flight risk initially, so she needs a home where she will be closely monitored in a secure yard. She has a spot of hair loss from going under a chain link fence.

What really stands out about Mabel is her incredible emotional support abilities. She can sense when someone is upset and will offer comfort in a way only a loving dog can.

Sadly, the family that took in Mabel was unable to keep her due to financial strain after the husband’s job loss, and they already have five dogs. They’ve tried to find her a home, but the truth is they refuse to abandon her at a shelter that might not give her a chance. Lucky for us, Mabel found her way to our foster in St Louis and will come to Seattle when temperatures are more favorable.

Mabel deserves a forever home where she can bond with someone who will cherish her and give her the love she deserves. And from her pictures, another dog friend would be ideal.
