Meet Penny Lee – A Bright, Bouncy Beagle with a Heart of Gold
Penny Lee’s journey hasn’t been easy—she was heartbreakingly dumped on the side of the road. Thankfully, a kind person found her and brought her to safety. While they hoped to keep her, their resident dog wasn’t keen on sharing the home, so Penny Lee made her way to our foster program in St. Louis, where she was warmly welcomed into rescue.
From the very beginning, Penny Lee has shown nothing but love and resilience. Described by her finder as the sweetest girl with the biggest personality, she’s won over everyone she’s met. She absolutely adores belly rubs (seriously—she can’t get enough!) and thrives on attention, playtime, and snuggles.
Penny Lee is the full package—she’s kennel trained, housetrained, walks well on a leash, and even knows some basic commands. She’s great with kids, seems to be cat-friendly, and enjoys the company of other dogs. Right now, she’s living her best life playing with the other foster beagles, chasing balls, and running free in the yard.
At her initial vet visit, she was estimated to be around 2 years old and currently weighs 30.2 pounds. Before heading to her forever home in the Pacific Northwest, she’ll be fully vetted—spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations—so she’ll be ready to start her next chapter with tail wags and belly rubs galore.
Penny Lee is ready for a family who will love her endlessly and never let her down again. Could that be you?
Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
