Richie was rescued from a laboratory setting at a vet school in South Korea. We do not know what kind of testing but we do know Richie was in the internal medicine department at the vet school, along with Quinn, Odie and Crete. Richie is friendly with people and other beagles. He arrived in Seattle on March 3rd and is currently relaxing in a foster home. Richie is doing really well with housetraining and has had no accidents in his foster home - good job Richie!! Richie would do best with another confident resident dog to show him the way. From our past experience, laboratory beagles learn from other dogs so Richie really needs another confidant resident dog in the home and preferably a fenced yard. We have no information on his interaction with kids at this point. Richie is very timid and startles easily so if there are kids in his home, it would be best if they were 14 and older. Young kids running, shouting, being kids will likely scare Richie. His best home would be with another playful dog and an older couple. He has started going for walks and does best when the other resident dogs go with him. He needs security in his life. Richie is scheduled for a dental the week of March 25th. We are hoping he doesn't lose many teeth due to his previous diet and life in a kennel environment. He would love to join your family so fill out an application to learn more!
