Sharlee

Sweet Sharlee is a 4 year old, 35 pound beagle mix who was originally rescued from Texas. She likes to sleep in her kennel with the door open at night and doesn't mind hanging out in there with a closed door for a few hours while her family is out. Sharlee is not a fan of cats or small critters, but she has lived with kids 8 and older. We think 8 and older is best because she may have some food bowl/chew bone resource guarding. Sharlee loves laying the sun and would enjoy a yard to run in. However, if she gets a lot of exercise then a townhouse/apartment environment might work, as long as someone is home at least half the time to spend with her. Sharlee had her vaccines updated in September 2023 and just got her allergy shot on 5/8/2024.  She would do best as the only dog in the home, but could possibly live with a more mellow submissive dog. Sharless enjoys the alpha dog role and will take time to warm up to any new dog friend. Like many dogs, Sharlee is a bit leash reactive on walks so her current family tries to walk when/where less chance of dog interaction on the leash. She currently uses a training collar and short leash for walks which does help but a little work on leash manners might be nice. Sharlee needs to find a home ASAP as her family is moving back to Texas and is not able to take her. Please consider giving Sharlee a home as at 4 years old and looking for a third home, she is deserving of a forever home.
