Meet Sissy - A Sweet, Shy Girl Looking for a New Beginning

Sissy's story starts with heartbreak, but we're hoping it ends with a fresh start and a loving forever home. She was found on the side of the road with another dog, who sadly didn’t survive after being hit by a car. Before that, Sissy had been living as a stray, with the other dog’s owners keeping her while trying to find her a home. The two were a friendly pair, and now Sissy is looking for a new family where she can form that same bond with another dog. Sissy didn’t react at all when the vet’s office cat played with her tail, but as always, caution is recommended when introducing a beagle to a cat. She has been around kids ages 8 and 14 and has done well with them.

At about 4 years old and weighing 26.2lbs, Sissy is a gentle and sweet girl who’s still a little shy. She’s spayed, fecal tested, microchipped, and heartworm negative – all set for her new adventure!

Sissy will thrive in a home with another dog to help her feel secure and give her the confidence she needs to come out of her shell. While she’s a little reserved at first, her loving nature is starting to shine through as she learns to trust again.
