I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Sophie

I'm Available

Meet Sophie! :feet:

Sophie is a tiny, silly, sweet girl with a big personality and plenty of puppy energy! She’s a happy, affectionate dog who loves people, cuddles, toys, chews, blankets, sunshine, and exploring the yard. She’s happy to be picked up and snuggled, and she loves being near her people. She’s also a little stinker who will get into the garbage while you’re charging the car if you give her the chance! She’s definitely still a puppy and has some learning and socialization to do, but she’s a lovely, adaptable girl.

Personality and PlaytimeSophie loves to play, although she’s still learning how to play appropriately with other dogs. She can be a little overenthusiastic and pushy when trying to engage her canine friends, and she gets mouthy when excited. She has lots of energy and needs regular playtime and exercise to keep her happy. When she doesn’t get enough activity, she can turn into a little wild woman! She would do best in a home with another active, playful dog who can match her energy and help her learn good play manners. Because she can be mouthy during play, a home without young children would likely be best.

Home Life and HabitsSophie is obsessed with food and loves her toys and chew items. If she doesn’t have an appropriate toy to chew on, she’ll happily find something she shouldn’t—including toilet paper rolls! Puppy-proofing will be important. She also enjoys having a cozy, secure place to rest. She naturally found a snug, covered spot in the cat tree, and when a crate was provided, she went right in. Her crate is a great place for her to settle and calm down when she gets overstimulated.

She loves being outside, exploring the yard, lounging in the sunshine, and snuggling under blankets. A home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for her. She even enjoys being outdoors at night, so her family will need to keep an eye on her and make sure she stays safe and comfortable.

Other Dogs and CatsSophie would thrive with an active, playful canine companion and a family committed to giving her plenty of daily exercise, playtime, and guidance. She and the resident cats have been getting along, so cats may be a possibility with thoughtful introductions and continued supervision.

Special ConsiderationsSophie was rescued from China, and unfortunately, we don’t know the history behind her missing back feet or what led to her physical condition. What we do know is that it doesn’t stop her from living her best life! She’s a happy, active, adventurous little girl who loves to play, explore, and be part of the action. She has limb stumps that she doesn’t like being touched, so handling them or putting anything on them can be challenging and is currently a two-person job. She’ll need patient, gentle handling and a family willing to work with her at her own pace.

Sophie can manage the three steps between the deck and yard, although she sometimes struggles getting back up, so a ramp may help make things easier for her. Her forever home should have minimal stairs to help her get around comfortably and safely. Sophie may have a few extra needs, but she doesn’t let them define her. She’s determined, resilient, and full of puppy spirit!Sophie’s Happily Ever After :heart:Sophie is vaccinated, healthy, and ready to find the loving forever home she deserves! She’s looking for a family with a yard, an active and playful dog companion, and people who understand that puppies need time, patience, training, and plenty of appropriate outlets for their energy.

She’s affectionate, adaptable, playful, and wonderfully silly. She may be a tiny handful at times, but underneath all that puppy mischief is a very sweet girl who loves her people and is ready to learn and grow with her forever family.

Sophie has already overcome so much, and now it’s her turn to find her happily ever after. Could you be the one to give this little sweetheart the loving home she’s been waiting for?

Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.

We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
