Meet Sugar 🐾

Sugar is a sweet beagle mix with a gentle soul and a soft, loving personality. At around 2 years old and 34.8 pounds, this adorable girl has already been through quite a bit but is now safe and beginning her journey toward a happy forever home.

Sugar was found running stray in Missouri before deciding to keep company with a male lab along the way. Since coming into rescue, she has been settling into foster care and showing everyone just how kind and affectionate she is. While she can be a bit nervous at first, Sugar has been friendly with dogs, cats, and kids.

She is spayed, fully vaccinated (rabies, distemper/parvo/lepto, and Bordetella), microchipped, heartworm negative, and has received NexGard Plus preventative care. Sugar did test positive for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne condition, so she has started medication as well as a dewormer to help her feel her best. Sugar was a bit shut down when she arrived into foster, but is progressing to a more trusting dog.

As Sugar continues to settle into foster care, we are learning more about her personality, confidence, and what kind of home will help her thrive. We’ll continue to update her profile as her foster family gets to know her better.
