I'm ready for my new family!

Meet Waffles! This lovable guy was found all tangled up in lead rope and left unclaimed. Our amazing foster in Missouri met his rescuer at Waffle House, and since naming dogs is always a challenge, we’ve just been calling him Waffles—because who doesn’t love waffles, right?

Waffles is a laid-back, easygoing beagle who’s about 5 years old and weighs 22.8lbs. He’s heartworm negative, though he is being treated for ehrlichia, and he’s already on the mend. Waffles has been neutered, had his vaccine boosters, been microchipped, and has passed his fecal test with flying colors.

This sweet boy is likely good with cats too! While he was waiting for his neuter at the vet, he didn’t even bat an eye at the cat in the same room. Waffles is the kind of dog you could relax with—he’s calm, patient, and super gentle. While he does hump a bit (as many beagles do), he redirects easily, and it doesn’t take much to remind him how sweet and chill he is. This behavior is also improving since his neuter.

Waffles is also surprisingly docile and quiet, which makes him a perfect companion for those looking for a more mellow dog. He doesn't need another dog in the home, but he’d be just fine living with one. Most of his interactions with other dogs have involved a bit of humping, so he’s not necessarily the playful type, but he’s happy to lay down with other dogs or enjoy some solo time.

He’s likely to be just as great with kids too, as he’s very easygoing and tolerant, however we don't have first hand knowledge of kid interaction. If you're looking for a sweet, low-maintenance companion who will be perfectly content relaxing with you (and maybe even snuggling up with a furry sibling), Waffles is ready for his forever home. He’s waiting for a family to love him just as much as he’ll love them!
