Meet Wilbur 🐶
Wilbur is a sweet beagle boy who was found as a stray in Missouri on February 24. Despite his uncertain start, he has proven to be a friendly and easygoing little guy. Wilbur weighs 25.6 pounds and is estimated to be around 18 months to 2 years old.
Wilbur gets along well with other dogs and people, and we’ve also been told that he does well with cats. His friendly nature makes him a great candidate for many types of homes.
Medically, Wilbur has tested negative for heartworm, but he did test positive for ehrlichia, a tick-borne illness. The good news is that he has already started treatment and is doing well.
Before traveling to Seattle, Wilbur will receive his vaccine boosters, be neutered, and microchipped. He is expected to be ready to travel at the end of March.
As his foster family continues to get to know him better, we will update his profile with more information about his personality and preferences.
Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect — they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
