Meet Wilma – The Sweet and Playful Girl Looking for Her Forever Home!

Wilma is a 5-year-old bundle of sweetness who is ready to find a loving home where she can continue to thrive. This adorable girl is definitely a social pup who would do best in a home with another dog, ideally around her size. She’s very attached to her foster beagle brother (you can see her hiding behind him in one of her pictures!), and they have a great time playing chase and wrestling together. She absolutely loves his company and would love a similar buddy in her forever home!

Wilma would be okay in a home with dog-savvy children, as long as they are respectful of her space. She’s very friendly and sweet, but since she’s still working on her house training, a family that can be patient and consistent would be a great fit. She’s getting better with house training as she’s taken outside frequently, and she’s made great strides.

One thing Wilma is not a fan of? The crate. She doesn’t like being confined, but she does fine when left with her foster brother, although she’ll whine for a little while before settling down. She loves to snuggle under the covers in bed, and when she’s there, she’ll sleep soundly until you get up – how cozy is that?

Wilma’s kennel cough is getting much better, with little to no signs of sneezing or coughing, and her energy levels are definitely on the rise! She’s playful and loves her tennis ball, though she’s still getting used to walks on a leash. She didn’t pull at all during a recent short walk, and while she had a mild reaction to a couple of dogs being walked by, it was easily managed. Wilma is a brave little girl who is learning and adjusting every day.

During her recent vet visit, Wilma’s age was updated from 3 to 5 years old. She is showing some signs of aging, and it looks like she may be missing a few teeth towards the back of her mouth, but this doesn’t slow her down one bit. Her personality is so sweet and friendly, and she has no issues with resource guarding – she’s just an overall loving and gentle pup.

Wilma will need a friendly dog in her life to help her feel secure and continue building her confidence. She has a great disposition and is eager to be part of a family where she can give and receive love.

She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccines. Wilma’s adoption has been delayed for a bit while she finishes recovering from kennel cough, but don't let that stop you from submitting an application! Once she’s 100% recovered, she’ll be ready to start her new life with you. Wilma is currently 26.9 pounds and can’t wait to find her forever home.
